Fall Mass Schedule at St. Bartholomew

We have finalized the TLM schedule for the rest of the year so I thought I would make one post for all of them.

The first will be a Missa Cantata commemorating St. John Paul II on October 22nd at 7:00 P.M. At this Mass there will be present a first class relic of the saint which will be available for veneration after Mass.

The second Missa Cantata will be a Requiem Mass on the solemnity of All Souls, November 2nd at 7:00 P.M. At this Mass we will commemorate all the faithful departed in a very solemn way.

The final Mass of the year will be a Rorate Mass in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary on December 5th. This Mass will be held in the early morning, before sunrise, and will be lit by candlelight. As the sun rises, we may contemplate the Light of Christ that our Blessed Mother gave to us through her humility.

The Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter describe the beautiful symbolism of the Rorate Mass:

The Rorate Mass is lit only by candlelight. Because it is a votive Mass in Mary’s honor, white vestments are worn instead of Advent violet. In the dimly lit setting, priests and faithful prepare to honor the Light of the world, Who is soon to be born, and offer praise to God for the gift of Our Lady. As the Mass proceeds and sunrise approaches, the church becomes progressively brighter, illumined by the sun as our Faith is illumined by Christ.

We hope you can join us for one or all of these Masses.
