New Date for the Rorate Mass
Previously we had planned to celebrate our Rorate Mass on December 19th but it isn’t possible to celebrate a Rorate Mass on this date in Extraordinary Form.
The new date is December 5th. We hope to see you there.
Fall Mass Schedule at St. Bartholomew
We have finalized the TLM schedule for the rest of the year so I thought I would make one post for all of them.
The first will commemorate St. John Paul II on October 22nd at 7:00 P.M. We will have a first class relic of the saint for veneration after Mass.
The second will be a Requiem Mass on the solemnity of All Souls, November 2nd at 7:00 P.M.
The final Mass of the year will be a Rorate Mass in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary on December 19th. This Mass will be held in the early morning, before sunrise, and will be lit by candlelight. As the sun rises, we may contemplate the light of Christ that our Blessed Mother gave to us through her humility.
We hope you can join us for one or all of these Masses.
Upcoming Sung High Mass: Exaltation of the Holy Cross
We are very happy to announce our next Sung High Mass will be celebrated on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. The Mass will take place on Monday, September 14th at 7:00 P.M. at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Catholic Church in Katy, TX. See the posters below for the full details in English and Spanish and please share them.
Pictures and video from our first Sung High Mass
Our first Sung High Mass was celebrated on the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and given the circumstances in which we find ourselves these days it could not have gone better. The church was packed again including the extra seating placed in the narthex. Special thanks to our Pastor Father Christopher Plant and Parochial Vicar Father Ricardo Arriola for providing this Mass and all the Sacraments through which we experience God’s grace and are drawn closer to Him. Deo Gratias!
Please join us for our first Sung High Mass
We are busy preparing for our first Sung High Mass which will be celebrated on the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Mass will take place Saturday, August 15th at 2:00 P.M. Please take note of the day and time as it differs from the last two TLMs we have celebrated. The Mass will be accompanied by the “Mass for Four Voices” composed by William Byrd and sung by a professional Schola.
A Votive Mass for the Deliverance from Death in Time of Pestilence
We were blessed to celebrate our second Mass in the Extraordinary Form at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Catholic Church on July 17th, 2020. It was a Votive Mass for the Deliverance from Death in Time of Pestilence and the church was again full albeit at it’s reduced capacity. Deo Gratias!
